Riding Bikes : Minneapolis Lifestyle Photography

As promised, here is the second half of Nate + Laura's five year anniversary session! These two love biking together, so I brushed off this old vintage bike, borrowed a picnic basket from Marissa and off we went. 

I've never really been one to pick apart images before and tell you my favorite parts, but that's all about to change :) There are big new exciting things in store over here!

The simplicity of these images - the basic colors, the pink for Laura and the blue for Nate, and the ease and feel of their love for each other - are some of my favorite things. The way they look at each other with such a knowing, deep love; it inspires me! Laura's pure smile really tugs at my heart - and Nate makes her smile often, so that's just an added bonus. When I offered the opportunity to shoot a couple "jumping" photos at the end, Laura jumped at the chance. "I always love the jumping photos you take! They're so fun and I've always wanted one!" My heart soared. That this couple was able to  have images of themselves, celebrating and capturing their love after five plus years together and I was able to give that to them? #dreamcometrue

Spencer + Elizabeth @ Pracna : Minneapolis Wedding Photography

Spencer + Elizabeth did it again! After a two week vacay honeymooning in Argentina and Chile, they threw another fabulous bash to celebrate their marriage at Pracna on St. Anthony Main. Brimming with details, both vintage and contemporary, Spencer's ascot and Liz's fabulous fur shawl from mother-in-law Denise's "treasure trove" stole the show for sure!

I simply adore these two - the way he looks at her, the way she raises one eyebrow at him - makes me love love even more. They are the reason why I do what I do; their constant support of this little business will bring loads of new things your way in 2012. I mean, who brings their photographer an authentic handmade winter hat outfitted with llamas?! LOVE.

10-1-2011 will forever stand in my memory for two reasons: I ran my first 10K ever that morning and decided to start training for a 1/2 marathon in 2012. Spencer + Elizabeth gave me these fab images and we sealed our friendship for a lifetime.

From the moment we met last winter, Spencer told me had a love for black and whites. The classic photojournalism style was something he really wanted me to capture. The reception photos in this set are for you, dear Spenny. Elizabeth mentioned a desire for some very timeless images, capturing the details she so lovingly planned and executed. The beginning shots in this set are for you, my "sister" Liz. You are beyond breathtaking.

Stuva Family: Minneapolis Portrait Photography

I cannot sing the praises of this family enough! There isn't enough time in the day or adjectives to describe them. But when I try, I come up with things like: love nest, hippie/bohemian/hipster chic, companionship, hands-on parents, peace and contentment, full of life, love and imagination bigger than the circumference of the earth :)

Megan and Ben are the BEST parents and I'm so blessed to witness how they teach Rowan and little Julian to love the world, love God and love people. They exude love, like it's just pouring out of them. How they look at their kids, each other and luckily for me, they look at my camera a lot (and quite well)!

This family enjoys the little things, the things that when we look back at our lives, the things we know we'll cherish. The dressup, the tutus, the bear snacks and the chubby baby boy lovin'. From the first second I laid eyes on Rowan when she was just over a year, I melted into a million pieces on the Patina floor. Watching her grow up into such a lovely little girl ... I am so blessed to have these kids and their parents in my life and to call them friends.

Joe + Rachel: Minneapolis Engagement Photography

From the second I learned Joe asked Rachel to marry him, I was bound and determined to get these two in front of my lens! I never usually try to convince people to let me take their photo, but this couple? I ADORE THEM! If you spent even five minutes with them, you'd love them too.

I've known Joe since he and my brother became friends freshman year of high school. They were basically inseparable, Joe giving Spens a ride to school and hanging out at our house before and after school. Although he comes from a long line of naturally-awesome athletes, Joe has the most grounded personality of any young guy I've seen. He loves his family, he loves his friends and he'd do anything for them... and then there's Rachel. From our messages about outfits and locations and ideas, I knew she was the most perfect person for Joe. They both have an amazing sense of who they are, apart and together. He is the perfect gentleman and she, the most beautiful bride-to-be!

I am already counting down the days to their June 2012 wedding :) :)
