With each email Liz sent, the excitement was building: the parasoles, the crafting, the programs, the invites, the dress, the vintage touches, the reception site, the meal... I could hardly contain myself!
Her attention to detail was every photographer's dream and I am so honored they chose me to document the day. It's a very intimate thing to be so involved in the most important day in a couple's journey together and this wedding was no different. I truly felt a part of the family during each and every moment!
Spending the morning preparing for the day was my absolute favorite - from the hair and makeup to the champagne toasting to the house filled with laughter and friendship. I think every bride should take relaxation lessons from Liz :) From her stories of traveling the world to McDreamy dentists to her heartwarming story of Grandma Rose's infamous 54 day novena that ultimately brought her and "Spenny" together... I can't put into words what a blessing it was to witness this part of their day.
The reception at Heartland in St. Paul featured a ten (that's right folks, 10!) course meal by the genius executive chef Lenny Russo and wine pairings like you wouldn't believe. Spencer + Elizabeth wined and dined with their 16 guests all night long. The toasts, especially Elizabeth's "State of the Union Address," brought the room to tears of happiness for this amazing couple. And of course, I was glad I had a camera in front of my face to shield my tears too!
I am THRILLED to share these images and can't wait to showcase more of them - but for now, here's a sneak peek of all the special touches and people that made 9.10.11 such a memorable day for Spencer + Elizabeth:
S + E: thank you from the bottom of my little photo heart for everything - you guys are the best! I am honored to call you clients and more importantly, to call you friends. Have a BLAST in Argentina!! Can't wait to see you in a couple weeks for the party!
xoxo,
syd.
