Hannah: Minneapolis Portrait Photography

From the second I heard her introduce herself across the room, I was instantly jealous. Hannah Hitchcock... endless branding ideas, endless awesomeness! But as I soon found, this lovely lady is more than just her name. She is openness, honesty, beauty from the inside out and she shares a passion for all things gorgeous, DIY and soft sunset light :)

And the funny thing is, I had been praying for a friend like her for almost a year. I was done with school, out of the "photo niche" and just trying to make things happen for my business on my own. She was exactly what I needed: inspiration, a willingness to work hard and shoot more, motivation and most importantly, friendship. I love this girl - I mean, she laughs at my jokes. What more could I ask for?!

We had been trying to get together to shoot for the better part of the summer and finally, it happened! She shot me first, and those images can be found on the awesomeness that is hannahhitchcock.com. I adore every image she shot of me because they are REAL. She brings out the best in her subjects and makes you feel like you're the next America's Next Top Model. Like for real, just go audition straight from the shoot and you'll for sure make it ;)

The best part of shooting fellow photographers is that you allow each other to just do your thing. You trust the other person's judgement (they do possess the ability to make you look good or else you wouldn't be there, right?) and there's a freedom to be brave and honest found in those few hours that you really can't put into words. You can just be, which actually, is an even better gift than the photographs themselves.

Chris + Shanelle: Mpls/St. Paul Wedding Photography

I had the pleasure of working with the ultra-fab Leslie Nall a few weeks ago as second shooter for Chris + Shanelle's wedding! Everything happened at the gorgeous Silverwood Park on what felt like the hottest day of the summer - despite that, everyone looked great and the love was definitely in the air!

Being a second shooter was the best experience - I recommend all my photo pals to do the same once in a while. You're able to see things as you might normally wouldn't and able to try out new ideas on willing models :) Especially when they're as gorgeous as Shanelle + Chris! Did you notice Shanelle's hair? LOVE LOVE LOVE! Her idea to braid a piece of lace into her 'do - so fabulous!

I can't say enough about how much I loved being a part of this day - their families were great, the bridal party was hilarious, the ceremony was touching... all of it so lovely. I'll let the photos speak for themselves!

Ryann + Jennifer: Mpls/ St. Paul Engagement Photography

The connection between these two is undeniable - from the minute I met Ryann + Jennifer at a local coffee shop last winter, it was evident that their chemistry wasn't just due to the fact it was negative temperatures outside! As they shared details about their love story and their day, I was overwhelmed with the knowledge that two things were most important: their love for each other and the love for their families. I couldn't wait to be a part of their big day!

We did a two-part engagement session, one indoors at their FANTASTICALLY AWESOME apartment in St. Paul and one outdoors at the location of their very first date. I love when couples choose a location with a connection - it's more comfortable, it's familiar and it's part of their story. How cool to look back on these photos years from now and say, "that's the spot we first met" or "that's where we lived"... love it!!

These images have a resounding theme: GREEN! Which coincidentally, was the theme of their wedding just yesterday, which I loved even more since it's one of my personal favorites :)

Congrats, Ryann + Jenn - thank you for sharing your story, your love and enjoy the honeymoon!

Harvey Dean : Mpls/St Paul Family Photography

It's been a while since my camera saw Mr. Harvey and he is growing by leaps and bounds! Auntie Syd got to spend the day with the little man and his rockstar parents last week and I thought I should share his studliness with my blog readers :)

Jason + Trisha: Minneapolis/ St. Paul Wedding Photography

Jason + Trisha wed on a fabulous Sunday in July -- after a relaxing morning spent preparing at the Juut Salon in St. Paul, everything was in place and Trisha looked absolutely gorgeous walking up the steps to the Summit Manor to marry her groom.

Carra from La Petite Fleur did an ahhhhmazzzing job with all the florals and arranged all the bridesmaid bouquets with a specific flower in mind -- loved it! The cake, the shoes, the dresses... all the details were so fabulous! And with the fabulous background of the Summit Manor, Jason + Trisha vowed to spend forever. With a touching ceremony, a beautiful bridal party and the abundance of love, this wedding is definitely one of my favorites!

Congrats, Jason + Trisha! Hope San Fran was awesome and you're settling into newlywedhood :) It was an honor to be a part of your special day!
